The study is being run through Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School.
We are doing this study because people with chronic pain often continue to suffer after traditional interventions such as medications, surgery, and/or physical therapy
What: Mind body approaches are behavioral treatments focused on breaking the pain-generating cycle between the mind and body
Free Study: There is no cost associated with the study all materials will be paid for and parking will be validated. There is a small stipend associated with participating.
The Intervention: The therapy will involve one-on-one sessions with study staff and/or group discussion sessions. In these sessions participants will learn and practice various mind body techniques aimed at alleviating back pain.
Length: Sessions will occur once or twice a week for a minimum of 6 weeks.
Funding: This study is funded through an open philanthropic grant provided by Adam D'Angelo.
Eligibility: Those with chronic back pain are eligible to participate.
